We’re a mother and daughter team who grew up with horses. Our family runs an agistment business, and we’ve both done dressage and showing all our lives. Over the years, we’ve cared for many horses—our own and others—and kept seeing the same problem: rubbing on the shoulders, withers, or chest.
We tried dozens of horse rugs from all the major brands, but none were perfect.
We couldn’t find a horse rug that fit properly without rubbing.
So we designed our own.
That’s how Diamond Deluxe Horsewear began. We started with simple cotton horse rugs and have expanded to offer wool and flagcloth options, so you can switch or layer rugs to suit the season
Most horse rugs are made to a two-piece design, with a seam running down the middle of the back. And there’s the rub – literally! Not only does this put the rough, bulky seam area directly against your horse’s spine…
It also limits the amount of ‘shaping’ in the rug overall. This can affect how the rug sits and increase rubbing on the shoulders, withers, or chest.
Diamond Deluxe rugs are made of three pieces, not two. We’ve added a central piece so that there’s smooth fabric along the spine. What’s more, this piece is shaped to the natural curve of your horse’s body, so the side pieces can fit smoothly, without being too tight and rubbing.
