How to Measure Your Horse for a Diamond Deluxe Horse Rug

Combine the right size and the right design for maximum comfort. Your horse rug should sit comfortably along the length of your horse’s spine. If it’s too long, it may slip and rub, or put pressure on the dock area. If it’s too short, the whole rug will be tight and uncomfortable.

Our horse rug size chart reflects our unique design

At Diamond Deluxe, we focus on getting the length right first. That’s why we use the length of the horse’s back as our main measure for size. We cater for different builds by adding generous pleating into the design of our rugs. This avoids tightness and keeps the rug comfortable.

When you use our chart:

Your horse may go up a size compared to other rugs or charts. This is not unusual. It’s a natural result of a different measure, for a different design. Your horse may fall between sizes. In this case, we recommend going for the larger size.
